Why do my products show 0% visibility in AI Shopping?

If your products show 0% visibility in AI Shopping, it is likely due to your prompt configuration or the absence of triggered shopping carousels. Below is a guide to help you understand and resolve this issue.

Overview of Product Recommendations in Peec AI

Once you upload your catalog under Shopping in the sidebar, every product is tracked automatically. Peec AI matches your products to relevant category prompts, so you don't need a prompt for every product. However, AI Shopping can only track what your prompts cover.

These recommendations are displayed as shopping carousels in ChatGPT. If no shopping carousel is triggered, product mentions will not appear in Peec AI's shopping results.

Importance of Prompt Setup

To ensure product recommendations are triggered:

  • Navigate to All Prompts in the sidebar.
  • Enable and view the Shopping column. If this column is hidden, use the settings button at the top-right corner of the table to make it visible.
  • Check the percentage in the Shopping column. It shows the percentage of chats that triggered a shopping carousel. If no percentage is displayed, it means your prompts are not triggering product recommendations.
  • Adjust your prompts to include more transactional or recommendation-oriented language to increase the likelihood of triggering shopping results.

Peec AI only counts items that appear in ChatGPT's shopping carousels. Plain product mentions, without a triggered shopping carousel, are not included in the AI shopping results. This means that if your prompts do not generate a shopping carousel, the products will not be visible in Peec AI.

Common Issues and Troubleshooting Steps

  • No Catalog Uploaded: Head to Shopping in the sidebar and connect Shopify or upload a CSV file of your catalog.
  • No Shopping Column Visible: Ensure the Shopping column is enabled in your prompts table.
  • No Percentage in Shopping Column: Revise your prompts to include more actionable or recommendation-focused language, and make sure your prompts cover each of your product categories.
  • Plain Product Mentions Not Counted: Remember that only products appearing in ChatGPT's shopping carousels are counted. Adjust your prompts to trigger these carousels.
