What is the usage percentage? Why is it over 100% for some sources?

The Used percentage in your Sources page shows how often a source appears when AI creates responses to your prompts. We test your prompts daily across different AI tools and track which sources they use.

The percentage is calculated by dividing the number of chats where a source appeared by the total number of chats we analyzed.

Why it can go over 100%: We count individual pages, not just domains. When multiple pages from the same website appear in a single AI response, each one counts separately toward that domain's total.

Examples:

  • If one page from wikipedia.org appears in 50% of responses, that domain shows 50% usage.

  • If two pages from wikipedia.org appear in every response, that domain shows 200% usage.

  • If three pages from wikipedia.org appear in 25% of responses, that domain shows 75% usage.

The higher the percentage, the more valuable that source is for your tracked topics.
