Why does a brand show zero visibility?

If your (or your competitor's) brand has 0% visibility in our Industry Ranking, this can have one of two reasons: Either we're unable to catch the brand mention or the brand is actually not mentioned in AI replies.

As a first step, look at the prompts most likely to mention the brand and read through some chats.

Brand Mentions with different spellings

If the brand name appear in the AI replies, but in a different spelling from the one you've set up in the "Competitor" section, you should consider adapting it

We look for exact matches of the brand names you’ve entered. To capture as many mentions as possible, we recommend entering the shortest unique version of your brand name.

If your brand is known by multiple spellings, we can add alternative spellings or even set up RegEx rules for you (see Alternative Spellings). Just reach out via our chat widget or email us at [email protected].

It’s also important to know that URLs are not used to detect brand mentions. Instead, we only use them to check if your website (or a competitor’s) has been cited as a source in the AI reply.

No Brand Mentions

If the brand name wasn't mentioned in AI Replies for any of your tracked prompts, that's no reason to worry. This is actually quite common when starting out and usually means your prompts need to be more specific.

How to improve your prompts by adding context:

  • Geographic details: "in Berlin" or "in the UK"

  • Target audience: "for young women interested in yoga"

  • Price ranges: "under €500"

  • Use cases: "for small businesses" or "for beginners"

After refining your prompts, wait a few days before checking results. AI responses can vary significantly day-to-day, so you'll get a better sense of your true visibility by tracking prompts over time rather than judging them after just one day.

Keep iterating on your prompts if needed — finding the right specificity level often takes a few tries.
